CIAO Program

This program assists young adults, aged 17-21, who have transitioned, or are transitioning, out of foster care. Our goal is to fully prepare transitioning youth for successful careers and lives after foster care. We help each youth establish a clearly articulated focus on their future through the development of a concrete and realistic plan that guides their educational, career and personal goals. The program's staff is committed to guiding each youth in the development and implementation of their future plans by offering direct counseling, remediation, employment opportunities, training, supportive and follow-up services and referrals to community resources.

This is an excellent program that is desperately needed for all of our children transitioning from foster care.  I am interested in starting a similar program in the Cleveland,Oh area.

This is a good program I think the CIAO PROJECT SHOULD ENFORCE.

This is the best foster youth assistance program I have ever seen. When I first found it I was shocked by the vast amount of assistance offered to foster youth in need; far beyond the basic YIT funding offered by DHS  (check the 'services offered' section). But I was even more surprised at the accessibility and the prompt responses of the program; unlike DHS, CIAO delivers on every one of its far more extensive promises. If you meet the criteria I highly recomend this program to you, and if you are not yet of age then I hope that you remember this program when preparing for the challenging transition from state-sponsored care to independent living. (shout out to Jason, David, Sonia, + Mr Smith) Laughing
