Mission Statement:  Members of the CIAO Alumni Group will focus on advocating for current and former foster youth and helping them achieve their goals.  We will emphasize fundraising efforts and educational trainings and will also teach youth to network and access community outreach programs, supportive services, Chafee funds and other resources – all the while providing a surrogate family setting. 

1. Alumni of Foster Care – Adults who spent time in foster care as children or youth
2. Alumnus/Alumna – An individual who spent time in foster care as a child or youth (alumnus-male, alumna-female)
3. Alumni Movement – Growing association of foster care alumni and allies organized to positively influence the quality of life of people in and from foster care.
4. Allies – Child welfare professionals and friends of foster care who work with alumni to achieve a shared mission
