Meet The Staff

Director of Youth Services – Oversees CIAO Project and WIA Youth Program (federal grant to provide employment and training services to at-risk and low-income youth)

Director Of Youth Services Joy Mason

Program Facilitator / Transition Specialist-  Manages the daily operation of the CIAO program.  Responsible for ensuring that the program does not loose site of the mission and demonstrates "best practices."

Program Facilitator/Transition Specialist, Cherrita Perry

Peer Group Facilitator (PGF) – This position is filled by former foster youth who have successfully transitioned out of care. Responsible for keeping the CIAO Youth Board active. Helps create a more foster youth friendly atmosphere by helping other staff understand the plight of transitional youth. Responsible for much of the program design. Who better to give input than foster youth themselves?

Peer Facilitator / Jonnie Hill

Administrative Support – Data entry, answers phones, directs calls, files paperwork, creates fliers, sends out mailings, etc.

Adminstrative Support, Sonia Acosta

Transition Specialists (TS) (3 employees) – The TS’s are the quarterbacks of the team. They direct the services that each participant will receive and ensure that participants follow through with plans. They make referrals in-house and to outside agencies, depending on the needs of the participant.

Transition Specialist, Jason Rasizzi

Career Development Facilitator/Computer Instructor (CDF/CI)– Prepares youth for employment by conducting career counseling sessions, career exploration and creating career short and long term goals. Once the CDF feels a participant is prepared for employment he may refer them to the BSR.

Business Service Representative (BSR) – Establishes contact with local employers. Creates internship opportunities. Tracks participant outcomes.

Education Coordinator (EC) – Coordinates all educational needs of participants. Maintains relationships with local educators. Connects participants to educator’s/tutors/remediation teachers. Assists youth with applying for college/financial aid.

Driver – assists with getting youth to jobs, interviews, tutoring, workshops, to and from college, etc.

The CIAO staff is diverse: 10% Hispanic descent,  60% African American descent, and 30% Caucasian descent.
